About Homeopathy and Homeopathic Medicines

Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine. The medicines used are traditionally called remedies. These are all safe, natural substances usually given on milk sugar tablets or pillules. People suffering from the diverse range of complaints / symptoms with which they consult their General Practitioner may also be helped to regain good health through correct homeopathic prescribing.

Homeopaths treat the whole person, not merely the the immediate presenting symptoms. A remedy is not prescribed just for the symptoms complained of eg eczema, but for the whole person who also happens to have eczema. Every prescription is based on individual need, so for example, ten patients suffering from the same complaint may need different remedies tailor made; for their unique self.

About Elizabeth Kinsey

I originally trained as a nurse at The Westminster Hospital London, qualifying for State Registration in 1969. I have a wide variety of medical, surgical and psychiatric nursing experience. I also have training and hold a certificate in Family Planning. I worked on the original Medical Research Council Hypertension Trial. Subsequent to this I was a Community Nursing Sister in Macclesfield Health District. I trained in Classical Homeopathic Medicine at The North West College of Homeopathy, graduating as a Licentiate in 1989 and gained registration with The Society of Homeopaths in 1990.

I have continued to undertake extensive post graduate education with many leading homeopaths both in the UK and abroad. My continuing professional development has covered areas other than homeopathy, including flower essences, kinesiology and energy work, so that I may provide a truly holistic assessment and consultation for each patient. I hold a Practitioner Certificate in Kinesiology from The Northern School of Kinesiology.

My hobbies include reading, travel and gardening, with a special interest in herbs and the medicinal uses of plants.I am married and we have one adult son who experienced learning difficulties. I am therefore familiar with the developmental, educational and and social problems of children and young people. I teach homeopathic students in clinical practice and Kinesiology. I support an AIDs/Malaria charity in Malawi. I am the founding member of The Macclesfield and District Homeopathic Support Group (for members of the general public) and a former chairperson of The North West Institute for Holistic Medicine an organisation bringing together Practitioners of various disciplines.
