Taking Remedies and Medicines
The surgery stocks a wide range of homeopathic medicines in order to dispense prescriptions
at
the time of consultation. At other times, any additional prescription required,
may either be posted to you or collected from the prescription box by arrangement.
Remedy pillules or tablets are taken by placing them under the tongue and letting
them dissolve. They are to be taken 15 minutes apart from any food or drink. There
are certain substances which may interfere with your treatment and you are therefore
asked to refrain from using them during the course of your treatment. These are:
Mint, Coffee, (decaffeinated is OK) Camphor Menthol and Eucalyptus. Please remember
to read labels! Coca Cola and Lucozade contain caffeine as do analgesics such as
Solpadeine and Anadin extra.
You may also be given a flower essence, such as Healing Orchids, Bach flowers or Austrailian
Bush flower essences, to help and support you during your course of treatment. Please

If in doubt, please ask. Mint free toothpaste is also available from the surgery health food shops and supermarkets.
Acute Illnesses
During the course of constitutional treatment you may at some time suffer from an
acute illness. I recommend all patients keep a Homeopathic First Aid kit at home
to cover minor accidents, colds and ‘flu’ and other winter ailments etc. These may
be obtained from Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy in Tunbridge Wells. The telephone number
is: 01 892 537 254, click
here
for their website.
These kits are extremely neat, fitting easily into luggage or sports bags and come
with very comprehensive instructions. The best kit for home use is the 36 Basic
Remedies. Other kits suitable for Foreign Travel or during Pregnancy and childbirth
are also available. These kits are also invaluable for treating other family members
in emergency and are therefore highly recommended. Stored properly the kit will
last for many years and the vials can be refilled at
the surgery upon request.
